PoppiFest 2008 4 New Ordeal members inducted On the weekend of February 29 through March 2, Arrowmen, along with 4 new Ordeal members and 2 new Vigil awardees, traveled to Camp Augusta to participate in Hungteetsepoppi’s Poppifest. We arrived on a Friday night and stayed up late, assuring the Ordeal honorees were on their correct track.
There were two Saturday service projects for Camp Augusta. The first one was to cut back brush around camp. The major project was to build a chicken coop. Arrowmen used recycled sapling brush, chicken wire and multiple 50 pound bags of cement. Through intense effort and strenuous labor the Arrowmen worked, creating the frames of the chicken coop until late afternoon. Next, Scouts practice for Conclave by played Indian handball and dodgeball until it got dark.
After the daytime activities, we all retired to a great dinner provided by Mrs. Carter and her kitchen crew. After dinner, everyone headed down to the Ordeal Cermony, where Kevin R., Michael, D., Dick Carter and Brian Renner were inducted as the lodges newest members.
With the Dinner and Ordeal Ceremonies completed, the Poppifest festivities began. Arrowmen played poker, putting green golf and other games to win some great prizes. Sunday morning broke early, and the lodge welcomed in our newest Vigil members, Jacob A. and Chris Lee Sr.
