Hungteetsepoppi Lodge welcomed 14 new Ordeal and 6 new Brotherhood members at the Fall Ordeal on October 19-21. On a chilly, rainy Friday night, Lodge members and Ordeal candidates made a lengthy drive up to Camp Augusta. The rain stopped when the ceremony team performed the opening Ordeal Ceremony.

On Saturday, after a chilly night, the rain went away and the remainder of the weekend was nice and sunny. Saturday, 42 cheerful Lodge members and silent Ordeal candidates worked on irksome tasks that included projects like: replacing wood panels around a dumpster that was destroyed by a tree, moving the floating dock to the boathouse for the winter, winterizing the garden and planting a cover crop, and removing the gate to the road below the garden path.

Because of the rain on Friday, control burn conditions were ideal. So OA members had lots of fun clearing the burn pile and it was amazing to use an arrow and gasoline to light the pile on fire. Then later that evening, we finished off the day with the Ordeal and Brotherhood Ceremonies.

The ceremonies were followed by a well-deserved dinner. Having completed their weighty responsibilities, OA members decamped after Sunday morning breakfast and headed back to Piedmont.
