Lodge Dinner 2006.....

LODGE ANNUAL DINNER ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS!

On Sunday, October 29th, the lodge held it's annual Fall Banquet a the Corpus Christi School Auditorium. Over 45 members were present for good food, fellowship, awards, and a great presentation on race driving by Scott Schroeder. Below are a few of the pictures from the dinner.

The evening started off with ribs, chicken, pasta and soda, which were, as always, delicious. Thanks to all the chefs who made this possible! The main event of the night, a presentation by guest speaker Scott Schroeder, a former Piedmont Boy Scout and a race car driver, then began. He told us all about what it is like to be a race car driver, and how he was racing before he got a drivers license. We learned about what it is like inside the car (temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for hour long races), and the type of equipment, which is all fireproof. Then, he told us how being a race car driver affects his social and academic life, but, according to him, is the most enjoyable part of his life. At the end of the presentation he answered questions about his career while a slide show behind him depicted his various races.

Our new Lodge Chief Luke Roy then led an election for Vice Chief of Programs, and Alan L. was elected. Later in the evening the new Vigil members were decided, and the honors were given to Kevin C. and Paul Orgeron. Then Jeff Green and Jacob A. were presented with the Founders Award for outstanding service to the Lodge. Congratulations to the all of you! We then finished off the successful night with pumpkin pie and the Order of the Arrow song.
